Zonta International is a global organization of executives and professionals working together to advance the status of women worldwide through service and advocacy. The name "Zonta" is derved from the Lakhota (Teton Dakota) word of the Native American Sioux peoples meaning "honest and trustworthy." Zonta's symbol is a yello rose and the colors are mahogany and gold. Zonta's emblem is a composite of 5 Siux symbols.
